Classical Portrait Drawing
On this 3-day course you will learn the fundamentals of portrait drawing using a sustained pose from a life model. You will receive individual critiques as a guide towards a fully resolved and accurate drawing. You will be taught how to use the sight-size method, proportions of the face, tonal layering, drawing techniques, line and edge quality, planes of the head. Maximum 6 in any one class.
Class times 10am – 5pm. Refreshments supplied.
Garden Sculpture
Garden Sculpture
On this 3 day workshop you will create a sculpture suitable for outdoors using a direct method of hand-building. Ideal for all abilities.
You will be introduced to design elements to develop your own ideas within the size (approx 1.5m high 30cm wide)
A pre-welded metal armature (support) and all materials, such as foam board, wire and cement will be provided.
Day 1 Development of design ideas. Armature construction.
Day 2 Armature construction. Application and sculpting of outer coatings
Day 3 Surface finish and metal powder coatings
Refreshments included. Please bring a packed lunch. Maximum 6 in class
Due to the materials used please wear old clothes and footwear (no open toes)
